about

Sometimes it seems like the State of Israel should be renamed the State of Emergency - real or fake, overblown or understated, political, religious, medical, economic, military... there's always a crisis or three. This makes it all too easy to forget the kaleidoscopic beauty of the Land of Zion and the People of Zion.
This song is a fond and grateful remembrance of special times past, a hope for an even better future and a prayer for our crises to end or at least take a back seat - preferably forever - so we can dance upon the sand and soak up that milk and honey moonlight, fearless and free.
Next year in Gaza?

lyrics

In the Milk and Honey Moonlight

Sing me of peaceful walks on autumn days
Sing me of quiet talks outside cafes
Show me the places where the children play
In the milk and honey moonlight

Sing me of love without dividing lines
Sing me of pilgrims bold and strangers kind
Sing me of clearer skies and greener times
In the milk and honey moonlight

And we will dance upon the sand
All along the waterline
And sing our praises to the Land
And the milk and honey light will shine

Sing me of wise men from a golden age
Sing cryptic wisdom from the woven page
The stars all see us on our sandy stage
In the milk and honey moonlight

Take me where time can't cast its heartless spell
The desert city with the ancient well
Lead me 'cross meadows where our fathers fell
In the milk and honey moonlight
